Nick Trombetta’s commitment to racial, economic, and environmental justice emerged while working for the U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign. Nick’s commitment to the Sanders campaign was rooted in the candidate’s unwavering support for the Green New Deal. Nick works with the Cary Green Energy Coalition and he has also created the Town of Cary Under 30 Action Team, and a “Rally for Mother Earth,” connecting environmentalists across the community. Nick has also worked with the Sunrise Movement, growing a local chapter in Chapel Hill, North Carolina from a small group to a 30-40 person team.
Nick has undertaken successful campaigns to speak out against a local coal burning plant in North Carolina, and has worked with organizers to successfully prevent the construction of the world’s largest gas station on a protected watershed in the town of Elfland, North Carolina.
